WrestlePro X
Greetings from Rahway.
WrestlePro X Tenth Anniversary Show
April 4 • Rahway Recreation Center • Rahway, NJ
Show #69
Nearing 20 years into the New Jersey residency of my adulthood, it's not lost on me how little of the state I've actually seen. Outside of the occasional trip up and down I-95, Blame it on the charms of NYC or the freedom of not owning a car.
It will not be surprising then that wrestling has been the gateway to getting out around the state over the last few years. Both of my trips to American Dream has not been for shopping but for the joy of a mall show. I learned there's a Rutherford, and not just an East Rutherford. I've found myself in a high school gym in New Providence. Atlantic City, Asbury Park, and Ridgefield Park are all in my potential future plans.

Rahway would be the spot to close out my triple show week, letting me trade the vast space of the World's Most Famous Arena for the Rahway Recreation Center, a modest house of independent wrestling history. New Japan, Ring of Honor, and Chikara have all run here over the years; lately, it's the regular home to WrestlePro, a modest little indie that's been grinding away for 10 years and creating a handful of stars that have gone on to bigger promotions.

The card was pretty stacked card to celebrate the decade anniversary – a half-dozen well known AEW stars, an Attitude Era WWE mid-carder tagging with his son, and a slew of indie journeymen at various career phases. Families huddled in the bleachers as plenty of kids ran around and shouted at the heels, only to be out-voiced by That One Fan Who Can't Ever Stop Chanting.

With this show in the rear view, the planned return to Las Vegas for what is clearly a very overbooked scheduled of shows looms. More on that later this week.
